Raphia forest walk
Walk through the distinctive Raphia palm forest with a guide.
FOREST & LAKES · KOSI
LODGE · ISIMANGALISO WETLAND PARK
Eight canvas-and-thatch rooms hidden in indigenous forest on the edge of the Kosi lake system. An intimate lodge for slow days on the water, under the palms, between some of the strangest and most beautiful habitats in Maputaland.
Why stay here
Kosi Forest Lodge is built into the landscape rather than onto it. A Zulu podberry tree anchors the main lodge, meals spill outdoors under the canopy, the pool looks over Lake Shengeza and the rooms sit raised among the trees. It feels less like a safari lodge and more like a wetland hideout.
From Kosi Forest
The lodge's great strength is how fast you move between habitats: ancient palms, winding waterways, lake channels, bird-rich forest and the estuary at Kosi Mouth.
